This video was shot at the U.S. Scale Masters National Championship in Hemet, California on October 11th, 2024. Unfortunately, Brent Hecht's F8F Bearcat experienced a loss of air pressure due to a blown line, and the model had to be belly landed.

The model survived with some relatively minor damage to the belly of the airplane (and the loss of the $200 scale 4-blade propeller), but with some repairs and cleaning, she was BACK in competition within an HOUR!!

This is what scale modeling is all about: from the anguish of a forced belly-landing, to right back into competition!
