I did Mount Kinabalu without a tour 🇲🇾 - Budget guide

In this video, I will share some tips on climbing Gunung Kinabalu (4,095m) without joining a tour. This is for people who which to climb on a budget, it could save you almost half the money compared to booking a tour, especially if you are climbing alone or with very few people. You just have to prebook the accommodation up the mountain and know the logistic on getting there.

Cost breakdown per pax (Foreigner):
Accom + meal = RM465
Permit = RM400
Insurance = RM10
Service Charge = RM61
1 Guide for 2pax = RM350/2 = RM175 each
Entrance Fee = RM50
Timpohon Gate transport = RM34
Total per pax = RM1195

Cost to be consider outside of the climb:
Shared transport to and from Kinabalu park per pax = RM35 x 2 = RM70
My 2 nights' accommodation near Kinabalu park (day before and after climb) for 2 pax = RM188/2 = RM94 each
There are restaurants around Kinabalu park, cost around RM10~ per meal
