Marvel Rivals, the upcoming free-to-play superhero team-based PvP shooter, has a confirmed release date and will launch on December 6, 2024. The good news is that you’ll find all the Marvel superheroes (and supervillains) chosen for the game unlocked and free to play on the launch day itself and after. So, don’t stress about how much cash you have to dole out to unlock a certain Marvel character in Marvel Rivals.

Marvel Rivals will release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, great news for console owners who wanted to get in on the previously PC exclusive Alpha to get acquainted with the experience.

Initially, there was only a PC release announced for the game even though both PS5 and Xbox code references were hidden in the Marvel Rivals website, strongly implying a console release was on the way.


There have been five maps announced for Marvel Rivals across two locations – Shin-Shibuya, Spider-Islands, Royal Palace, and Yggdrasill Path, and Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda. The first two are set in Tokyo 2099, whereas the later two are in Yggsgard. Obviously, the last is in Wakanda and this one was revealed at Gamescom 2024.

Looking closer at the Yggsgard location, these maps are set beneath the sky-shutting canopy of the World Tree, Yggdrasill, and as you would likely infer from the name, is within Asgard.
