Working through trauma adaptations is a necessary part of our healing, this does not mean that we are the victim, this simply means that we had impactful people or moments in our life that inadvertently had a NEED from us that NEEDED to be MET....

AGAIN - THEY HAD A NEED FROM US THAT NEEDED TO BE MET.

often you hear that people pleasing is a trauma response and you would be 100% correct!
People pleasing comes from a place of WANTING TO BE ACCEPTED - accepted by our TRIBE means we survive another day - food water and shelter are directly linked to acceptance, if our parents didn't accept us as babies we wouldn't survive, so we LEARN TO ADAPT, the adaptations over the years become more and more apparent and we continue time and time again to ABANDON OURSELVES.

Healing trauma is
NO LONGER ABANDONING SELF
HONOURING THAT WE MADE ADAPTATIONS
UNDERSTANDING THAT WE DONT NEED TO HOLD OTHERS PAIN.
UNDERSTANDING THAT OUR OWN NEEDS MUST BE MET BEFORE WE MEET ANOTHERS.

This is not to say we can now move through life not caring for others and placing ourselves above others, it is a shift in perspective that allows space for us to listen to, and tap into our own needs and understand that IF YOU DONT HAVE YOUR BEST INTERESTS AT HEART, WHAT MAKES YOU THINK SOMEONE ELSE DOES?!

Healing comes from with in, and it is a total unveiling of all the things you did to keep others happy.

Trauma isn't a BAD thing, it just goes to show how STRONG you really were, perhaps at a time that you wouldn't have imagined you had that kind of strength.... this is most obvious in CHILDREN we call it RESILIANCE .... I call it a clever kid who has learned to adapt for survival.... and that my friends is a STRENGTH that we all have....

Time to shift the perspective and show up for ourselves as that STRONG inner child that has always been there.
