YOHO PASS & HIGHLINE TRAIL FROM EMERALD LAKE | Best Hikes in Yoho National Park | British Columbia

Emerald Lake is one of the beautiful lakes in Canada famous not only for its emerald green color but also for various water activities and hikes available around the area.

One of the famous hikes in Emerald Lake is the Yoho Pass Trail which finishes at a less-crowded and peaceful backcountry Yoho Lake Campground with majestic views of Wapta Mountain towering over and reflecting on the emerald green Yoho Lake. Yoho Pass Trail then connects to Highline Trail which gives excellent views of Takakkaw Falls, Wapta Icefield, glaciers, and surrounding mountains in the Canadian Rockies.

Hike to Yoho Pass and Yoho lake could be done either from Takakkaw Falls or from Emerald Lake or as a point to point hike. We did our hike as an "Out and Back" from Emerald Lake to Yoho Pass and Yoho Lake then continued to the west side of Yoho Lake which connects to Highline Trail and joins Iceland Trail, then made our way back to Emerald Lake.
