This hike takes you via First Creek Trail to the summit of Mount Wilson in the Rainbow Mountain Wilderness. It’s a challenging climb recommended for experienced hikers only. Be prepared for a desert environment, steep rocky sections, and off-trail areas with no shade and prickly plants.

It's best to go on a colder day or start your hike early to avoid the heat. Bring plenty of water and wear appropriate clothing to protect yourself from the sun. There’s a hidden waterfall before the mouth of the canyon. Parking is available at the trailhead.
