Tinchuley - The word Tinchuley stands for three chullas (chulla means oven), and this is represented by three prominent hill tops that resemble the three chullas. It is an upcoming tourist destination in the region. Tinchuley is a remote hamlet located close to Darjeeling which can be reached through a drive of 32 kilometers. It is at a distance of 80 kilometers from Siliguri, 35 kilometers from Kalimpong, and 88 kilometers from Gangtok. The inhabitants of this quiet settlement took an initiative for establishing their locality as a model organic village. With the help of organizations such as the WWF, the village has developed Village Home Stays. The villagers also showed keen interest in modern farming and with the help of WWF, they developed floriculture, vermiculture, organic projects.

October to March. The clear sky will help you to see sunrise and Kanchanjunga.

*How to reach Tinchuley?
You can reach NJP by train from Sealdah. Hire a private car(or, car from homestay) to reach Tinchuley homestay. You can go to Jorebunglow/Tista Bazar by share cab, and from there take the private vehicle from Homestay to reach Tinchuley.

Sealdah to NJP train details
1. Uttarbanga Express(13147): 19:35 - 06:50
2. Kanchankanya Express(13149): 20:30 - 07:30
3. Darjeeling Mail(12343): 22:05 - 08:15
Other than the upper list there are so many other trains from Howrah/Sealdah/Kolkata station. You can check this on the Railway site.

*Cost for the trip?
1. Sealdah to NJP train fare(sleeper class): Rs 350/- per head
2. NJP to Tinchuley(private car 4 seater): Rs 2500 - 3500/-
or,
Darjeeling to Takdah/Tinchuley(private car 4 seater): Rs.1800/- (1.5 hrs journey)
Darjeeling to Lamahatta(private car 4 seater): Rs. 1600/- (1 hr journey) or Rs. 2500/- (for return)
Darjeeling to Tista Bazar((private car 4 seater): Rs. 2500/- (1.5 hrs journey) or Rs. 150/- (per head for share cab)
NJP to Lamahatta(private car 4 seater): Rs. 2500/-
NJP to Jorebunglow: Rs. 150/- (per head for share cab)
Jorebunglow to Lamahatta: Rs. 150/- (per head for share cab)
3. Tinchuley Homestay: Rs. 1500 - 2500/- per night
4. Food: Rs. 600/- per head [lunch, tea snacks, dinner, tea biscuits, breakfast]
