If anyone had ever hurt me, you know
The way I hurt myself
If someone had ever hurt me, you know
The way I hurt myself
Well, they'd be buried six feet under ground
Beyond the good Lord's help
Beyond the good Lord's help
There is something on my mind
Something on my mind
Makes me feel
Like I want to die
There is something on my mind
Something on my mind
Makes me want to die
Heard it's just a lie
Keeps me searching keeps me hoping keeps me praying
For just a little
Just a little piece of mind
Something I've yet to find
Searching for a little piece of mind
Well, I'm going to cast this evil
Way down in the deep blue sea
Well, I'm going to cast this evil
Way down in the deep blue sea
So that cold black dirty
Cold black dirty water
Have it first over me
Take this evil first over me

About, Here we have in our excited sweaty hands, the lastest from Jason Ricci and his band of over achievers, 'The Bad Kind'. Jason and the Band held engineer / producer Rich Morpurgo captive, for several days last year, at his Midwest Audio Recording Studio. It seems Rich does his best work under pressure. Yet this is where the magic happens along with hard work, ton's of Talent and a well seasoned band of veterans. This, along with honest, creative song writing, two 'mooncat cool' covers (featuring the soulful vocals of Kaitlin Dibble) this record is another musically diverse, hip platter of funky blue perfection. No need to talk about the genius or 'chops' of these cats as you probably already know this. Jason is an award winning and innovative harmonica player, some say the best in the world,as one award proclaims. An imaginative song writer, truly one of a kind. Dig it.
Jason Ricci is one of the most popular harmonica players on the planet today. Listed in almost every top ten list of players on the internet today Jason Ricci is a polarizing force always in the spot light and on the tips of critics, artists and fans tongue's everywhere. Through two plus decades of endless touring, TV appearances, recordings and the internet Jason Ricci's style of playing is so revolutionary and influential that there exists an entire younger generation of players imitating his music, clothes, gear, and even stage presence. Nick named "Moon Cat" (a street name he once used in Nashville and New Orleans to avoid police detection) Jason has been an almost constant force for decades in the studio, festivals, club dates and press. Love him or hate him, through performing, singing, song writing, teaching, harmonica playing and activism in the fields of L.G.B.T., mental health and addiction, it is not an overstatement that this young, white, queer, skateboarding, punk rock loving, multiple convicted felony having Moon Cat from Maine is currently changing world through music and education.
-"Jason Ricci has taken the harmonica to a new place. It's like listening to John Coltrane or something, he's really pushing the boundaries to an incredible degree. He really pisses off the blues purists even more than I do and we sort of became friends over that (laughs)He does jazz and funk and all kinds of stuff, almost like Sonny Rollins. He fits great on 'The Outsider' and in November I'm bringing him to Holland for 5 shows as my special guest. 'Cos I want to help him get going in Europe; He also has his own band Jason Ricci and New Blood on Electro Groove, THE new label in America. You should see this guy live! He's an astounding live performer and he's unique, nobody plays like this guy. I mean technically - and I'm a harp player too - I know what he's pulling off on that instrument; he's really great." - Walter Trout
