Hosted by Jim Foster, a two-time Hodgkin lymphoma survivor, this powerful and emotional debut episode sets the tone for what Cancer Interviews is all about: real stories from real people battling cancer, sharing hope, insight, and connection.
In This Episode:
Jim Foster shares his deeply personal journey of surviving Hodgkin’s lymphoma twice — a rare and aggressive form of cancer. His cancer journey began not with lymphoma, but with a rare neurological condition called Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS), also known as Stiff Man Syndrome or Stiffman Syndrome. After battling SPS for 14 months, Jim was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma, marking the beginning of a long road through treatment, survival, and advocacy.
Jim’s treatments included:
Chemotherapy during his first diagnosis
A second battle after a 5-year remission
High-dose chemotherapy and an autologous stem cell transplant (also known as a bone marrow transplant) during his second round of treatment
Now a proud Hodgkin lymphoma survivor, Jim Foster is passionate about helping others navigate their own cancer battles. That passion led him to launch the Cancer Interviews Podcast, a platform dedicated to sharing interviews with cancer survivors, caregivers, and advocates from all walks of life.
What to Expect from Cancer Interviews:
Inspiring interviews with guests from across the cancer community
Stories of diagnosis, treatment, remission, and the emotional impact of cancer
Conversations with caregivers, highlighting the unique challenges they face

Behind the Scenes:
In this premiere episode, Jim also discusses the origins of the podcast and YouTube channel — including the naming of the studios and the inspiration behind launching this platform. Cancer Interviews is more than a podcast; it’s a mission. Jim explains who the show is dedicated to, and how it aims to create a meaningful space for those affected by cancer.
