Here is a recent mix I made of ambient style trip hop illbient breaks and lots of scratching. This was made in the headphones, so I was focusing on making an ambient wall of sound with beats and scratching rather than beat matching. Done on the fly, despite one record having a lot of pops, I am pretty happy with the results. I was going to try to edit out the pops of the one section but it was too much work and I did not want to harm the sound quality or dynamics of the recording. One of the main reasons I don't like a lot of newer music is because they compress the hell out of it and then max out all the levels so that everything is the same, no dynamic range, so I did not want to mess up my recording by filtering out the pops.
