Directed by Na Hong-jin, "The Wailing" takes you on a haunting journey through a small village plagued by a mysterious and deadly illness.

The story revolves around Jong-goo, a bumbling local police officer, who becomes entangled in a nightmarish series of events when a string of bizarre murders and unexplained illnesses strikes his rural community. As fear and paranoia escalate, rumors circulate that a mysterious Japanese stranger, portrayed by Jun Kunimura, might be responsible for the horrors that have befallen the village.

Our protagonist, Jong-goo, portrayed by Kwak Do-won, sets out to investigate the eerie occurrences and uncovers dark secrets lurking beneath the surface of this seemingly peaceful town. As he delves deeper into the sinister mysteries, he finds himself grappling with supernatural forces beyond his comprehension.

Throughout the review, I explore the film's masterful storytelling, exceptional cinematography, and riveting performances from the talented cast. I wish I would have checked this one out sooner but I'm glad I have the opportunity to finally have watched!
