We in the SHINRYU Era now boisss !! Now, I didn’t quite know what I was expecting since I rarely watch many JP runs bc it’d only make me wanna try and play even though I barely know a lick of Japanese and I just don’t have time and energy to study atm lmao

But who tf cares about my life story amirite ? This story chapter marks the beginning of Shinryu era and the stage is already testing us lol one will have to bring their A game to this.

First-impression-wise, the mechanics of the stage are both simpler and more complicated compared to good ole LUFENIA stages. Simple bc you don’t really need to pay as much attention to every turns you make due to things such as LufeniOrb countdowns and you can generally just go nuts, but also complicated bc there are several mechanics tied to the enemy Force Gauge itself (not sure about future ones but at least this one has some)

Pretty basic enemy for an introduction to such strong stage, but don’t let that fool you; they can do some nasty things. First off, their normal Gaze and Ultrasonic attacks can paralyze you if your HP is under 50%, but this is also true for most of their attacks, so keeping everyone healthy is the name of the game here.

This is especially important bc at 40%, 60%, and 80% of their FR Gauge, an HP Poison aura that’s getting stronger per threshold iteration (10%, 20%, and 30% max HP respectively) will be applied to the field. And nothing you do can counter it except via HP Regen.

When their gauge reaches 100% they’ll immediately use Group Gaze attack regardless of turn, which supposedly deal a lot of damage and can’t be tanked, but fortunately can be neutered by Raijin LDCA lmaoo

During their Force Time, if anyone’s HP drops below 30%, it’s insta-kill for them, so again, keep. everyone. healthy !

Their Force Weakness basically demands you to use Kain’s FR ability, this prompts their gauge to freeze during our Force Time. And when their Force Time is also active, letting them take turns should supposedly reduce their 3 turns FT, while keeping them docile for a while.

So Penelo is here for her super-charging skills aye lol bc this is basically a race on who gets to fill their gauge first. She can hog turns and keep on charging with her skills. As a plus, during FT, she adds a big chunk of percentage to the HP dmg bonus (a whopping 55% !!). I never got to try this, but it was cool still.

Garnet because amirite ? Not gonna screw around too much now that Shinryu is here. I’m bringing the big guns !

Lastly Kain as our star here bc he just makes this a whole lot easier as everything is basically catered to him. Use FR whenever it’s ready (full gauge), and then setup with his LD and Double Jump, and let the others go nuts ! XD

Overall, pretty tough but quite fun, can’t wait to experiment more with this bc I’m still testing things out pretty much lol apologies if I made some dumb moves but what can you do ? Lol
