Varanasi is not for the faint of heart, but it is fascinating. Seeing its burning ghats along the Ganga river is otherworldly. As the smoke of countless funeral pyres mingles with the scent of incense and the cacophony of temple bells, one cannot help but succumb to the hypnotic rhythm of this ancient metropolis.

To some, the mighty river Ganges is a cesspool of rotting corpses and Filth. For others, it is the holiest river in the world. Our video starts with a swim.

From there, my sixteen-year-old son and I tour the winding alleys of Varanasi. Eventually end up at Manikarnika Ghat. The Burning Ghat. The holiest cremation grounds in all of Hinduism. We embark on a walking tour with a local guide who takes us inside the crematorium where life and death mingle.

Varanasi is truly an incredible destination. It's crowded, it's chaotic, and it's bizarre. Needless to say, we loved it.
