Best place to stay in ASAKUSA | How high tech is Japan? | TODAY IN TOKYO

Today in Tokyo we go to Asakusa to check out a new high tech place to stay! Japan is really ahead of the game when it comes to technological advancement and in this video I discuss how high tech is Japan really? This is episode one of Today in Tokyo! A new series helping you discover places to stay and things to do in Tokyo!

When it comes to Japan’s high tech hotel industry, hotels like these are becoming more and more popular. This is partly due to Japan’s increasing labour shortages but also because a lot of brands like to play on the perception that Japan is technologically advanced. This is great for tourists and especially those coming for the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics!

This hotel in Asakusa is from the creators of the hotel that is ran by robots. The technology is fun and efficient and it is both great as a family hotel or a business hotel. I think it is the best place to stay in Asakusa because you can take a direct train to Haneda or Narita straight from Asakusa Station. Also, it is close to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Heritage Zone, making it an ideal place to stay for both the area itself (there are a lot of must see spots and must try Tokyo street foods) and for seeing the Tokyo 2020 Olympic events especially the boxing tournaments which will be taking place at the Ryogoku Kokugikan (also known as the Sumo Hall).
