Actor Dileep has refused to submit his mobile phones to crime branch officers claiming it contains some private phone calls with his first wife actress Manju Warrier, relatives and friends. He told the court that the personal records in his phone are likely to be misused and that it will affect his privacy. He also said that he has sent his phone for a forensic test and that he can’t hand it over to the probe team as he has no faith in the investigation officers.
The court decided to consider the case urgently in the plea of the prosecution asserting that the actor is not cooperating with the case. However, the actor said that he produced all that the investigating officials demanded and is cooperating with the case. The actor said that he is not using the old phones now. Have recorded the conversation with Balachandra Kumar. The old phones are given to the forensic for an examination. Will produce it in the court as soon as its report is obtained. The court told Dileep that he cannot say that he will not give the phone as it has the conversations.
Actor Dileep has demanded that Baiju Paulose’s mobile phone be checked. He is the complainant in the conspiracy case and the investigating officer in the actress assault case. The crime branch had issued a notice to produce the old phone after finding that four accused, including Dileep, had tried to destroy the evidence by replacing the old mobile phone. Dileep alleged that the phones he was asked to produce were not used during the 2016–17 alleged conspiracy. He added that the phone he used during 2017 was produced in court after his arrest and was subjected to forensic examination. Meanwhile, a lawyer’s statement was taken in connection with the case of conspiring to endanger the lives of investigating officers probing the actress assault case. The statement of Adv. Sajith, a native of Thiruvananthapuram, was recorded in this regard. The action is based on the statement of director Balachandra Kumar whoalleged that Sajith had tried to influence him. According to the lawyer, Balachandra Kumar had said that the lawyer had intervened to get bail for actor Dileep. The lawyer handed over the WhatsApp chats sent by Balachandrakumar to the crime branch team.
