Baduy people (sometimes spelled as Badui or Kanekes) are an indigenous Sundanese ethnic group native to the southeastern part of Banten, specifically Lebak Regency, Banten, Indonesia.
The Baduy speak a dialect derived from archaic Sundanese. However, modern Sundanese and Javanese influences in their archaic dialect can be heard in their speech. The religion of the Baduy is known as Agama Sunda Wiwitan, a combination of traditional beliefs and Hinduism.
The customary area of the Baduy people has an area of around 5,136.58 hectares with a population of 11,800 people
