In Challenge A, students ages twelve years and older are introduced to the work of the Classical Conversations Challenge homeschool program as they learn to own the joys and challenges of this discussion-charged curriculum. Rooted in the timeless classical model of education Challenge A is a mix of grammar and dialectic materials with an introduction to basic rhetorical skills.

This fulfilling program prepares students for the later Challenges by serving as a bridge between the parent-directed elementary level and a more self-directed stage of learning.

The six strands (or focuses) of the Challenge A program include: logic, research, reasoning, debate, grammar, and exposition. Throughout these strands, students will learn 𝘩𝘰𝘸 to learn. Students will also conduct a science fair in this year.
