Since it was nice, I decided to use dried birch as the fuel source in my BCB Crusader MKII stove. The stove is designed for fuel cubes, but I thought there might be enough airflow to allow wood to work. Everything worked out well and I was able to get a boil in 12 minutes, since I didn't have a cap on my canteen cup.
