How IIT-Madras stayed ahead of others: ‘A patent a day’, monthly feedback mechanism for faculty

IIT-Madras has maintained top rank among engineering institutes in all nine editions of NIRF, and six times overall in a row. Faculty and administration believe the work they are doing in the IIT-Madras research park in the field of startups and entrepreneurship, filing ‘one patent a day’, and their willingness to work on projects of national importance kept them ahead of the others.
