Design for All | Stephen Burrows

New York City fashion designer Stephen Burrows’ 1970s disco knits rank at the top of every vintage collector’s must-have list. Burrows was way before his time, explains his current muse, Anna Cleveland.

In this episode of Collaborators, Anna and Stephen visit Burrows' archival warehouse in NYC, where the legendary disco dress designer and rule-breaker shares down the practical needs that drove him to fashion design. Instead of traditional woven fabrics, he chose to work with knits to breathe more life into the shape of his dresses, adorned with the signature Stephen Burrows' "lettuce edge" scalloping.
