Today I got out my 37mm/38mm tear gas launcher made by defense technology (deftec). 37mm launchers are considered signaling devices by the ATF so they are not controlled as firearms. However, 37mm launchers are considered destructive devices when combined with anti-personnel ammunition. So be careful what you buy for your launcher. The round I fire is a reload that uses a commercial smoke bomb from the fireworks store. This particular one I loaded with a little too much powder so it came apart when shot. I have had good luck in the past though, of course it wouldn't work when the camera is rolling 😉
