Volley Fire! Painting Pike and Shot Troops (TYW & ECW) [How I Paint Things]

The conficts of the 17th Century would see the rise of the 'standing army' across Europe, where mass production and outfitting could be brought to bear against one's enemies. While the Thirty Years War and English Civil War would be fought using similar weapons and equipment, the landscape - both literal and political - would wildly change how men were put into the field of battle.

Living in Bavaria, the Thirty Years War holds a slightly more direct interest than the English Civil War, so it's there that I've chosen to concentrate the start of my reading! Here's a couple of useful links on that: https://weaponsandwarfare.com/the-thi... is an overview of the broader conflict.
