XIMA - Crossing Venus

XIMA started his journey with dancefloor and old-school techno as a listener. Later, as a producer, he decided to explore the more hypnotic and atmospheric side of techno. Keeping the groove and tight low end, he started to experiment with the other elements, blending the natural sounds of the environment with synthesized soundscapes, which resulted in immersive atmospheres. There are also times when he prefers to slow down the tempo of his production for greater immersion, dabbling with melodic downtempo music. One of these was recently released by the Indian label kośa. After his debut EP on the UK-based label N F E R E E in 2023, he returns to a faster techno sound that drives us onto the edge of an abstractive sound space.

Refractions explores the vast, enigmatic realms of space, capturing its haunting beauty and inherent danger. Each track serves as a sonic journey through the cosmos, reflecting the intricate dance of celestial bodies and the profound isolation of the void. Pulsating basslines mimic the gravitational pull of distant planets, while synths evoke the shimmering light of stars, inviting listeners to traverse the unknown.

The EP’s soundscapes oscillate between moments of serene beauty and intense, foreboding energy, mirroring the duality of space: a breathtaking expanse filled with wonder yet fraught with peril. With intricate layers and immersive textures, Refractions invites you to lose yourself in the depths of sound, contemplating the mysteries of existence beyond our earthly confines.
