Witness how Shoorpanakha while elaborating about the magnificence of Sita Devi even forgets her oozing nose. This is a beautiful song from the Ramanatakam, Kana vendumlakshamkangal. She enters the scene with utmost pain and tells Ravana how the valiant and fearless warrior Sree Rama had given her pain. But wait, just as Ravana turned red with anger, roared with the rage to take revenge, his beloved sister stopped him. She said, hey brother, just listen before you go to take any retribution, you must listen about Devi Sita, Sree Rama’s beloved wife. Kana vendumlakshamkangal- which means even lakhs of eyes won’t be enough to capture the complete beauty of Devi Sita. She is an epitome of beauty. Her beauty is incomparable. Nobody on earth can even match up to the dust of her feet. You might have the valour to threaten the whole universe, but even your twenty sharp eyes are not enough to embrace that divine beauty. Her lotus-shaped eyes are sharper than any arrow. Her mesmerizing voice, if heard, is an ultimate bliss. She walks like a swan wearing her anklets embedded with precious gems. No one is comparable with such beauty. One cannot take eyes off the mesmerising beauty of Devi Sita even for a small blink! Her beauty holds such magnificence. There cannot be another magnificence of such a stature. Shoorpanakha then compares the divine body of Sita Devi with that of a golden creeper. Her long beautiful hair illuminates beauty when braided. Her divine beauty has even envied the peacock whose enormously beautiful hair is universally admired. The peacock gets envied so much that it goes to the ‘Creator’ Lord Brahma and asks how come Sita devi possess such beautiful hair while we peacock possess the most beautiful hair in the world? It is then that Lord Brahma with a smile on his Godly face replied to the peacock that it is the divine humble character of Sita Devi which makes her an ultimate epitome of beauty with grace. She is devi with Gunas- Gunavathi to the core, whereas you peacock walk head high with pride. Hence you are incomparable of such radiant character. She’s on top in every manner among everyone, it will be a bhagyam if you get her.
