Changing (or creating) the Cabin Air Filter on a 2016 Ram 1500

Описание к видео Changing (or creating) the Cabin Air Filter on a 2016 Ram 1500

Many Rams apparently do not come from the factory with a cabin air filter installed. They don't even have an opening created yet. The location is there (behind the lower glove box) and the shape of the opening is even outlined by the ridge that the cover or "door" seats into or onto... You can get kits that have the black plastic door and a filter insert. I got mine on Amazon for $14 and some change... basically $15. There are probably several sources you could go thru to get a kit. I also ordered a cheap soldering iron from Amazon that could be used as a hot knife. It worked ok... not quite as slick as I was expecting but generally better than trying to cut it with an exacto knife, utility knife, Dremel, Multi Tool, etc. Those can be tough and make more of a mess. You don't want to get debris, plastic "sawdust" or pieces down into your blower motor.
Hope this video answers some questions about creating a functional cabin air filter, and installing the filter cartridge and new door... Sorry I couldn't show every step or the entire process. Working solo means one hand doing the task and the other holding the phone camera and filming. Tough to do... so the camera got paused frequently and set down. Some of the technique and melting/cutting could not be filmed while doing the task. Plus I'm an amateur... this is actually my first YouTube video/post...
