Hey everyone! Here is my cover of the ED “Kamado Tanjiro No Uta” from Episode 19 of anime Kimetsu No Yaiba: Demon Slayer arranged for 3 violins and piano.
What I focused on in this cover were tempo and intonation, two things I wanted to improve since my Gurenge violin and piano cover (WATCH GURENGE COVER HERE: • Kimetsu No Yaiba: Demon Slayer OP "Gurenge... )
I usually look to other cover musicians for inspiration for my covers, however since this is such a new song, there weren’t many covers out there (specifically violin covers). With not much inspiration to draw from, the long process began of arranging this four-part cover from scratch. For me, this meant listening to Kamado Tanjiro No Uta over, and over, and over again, pausing, rewinding, unpausing – transcribing the melody and harmony parts. Transcribing the vocal melody for violin as pretty straight forward, however since the harmony parts are blended together and hidden behind the melody in most pieces, it was difficult to focus in on and hear the notes to write down. But I knew it was worth it!
This cover was heavier on the strings: violin 1 carries the melody throughout, and violin 2 and 3 carry most of the harmony. That left the piano part pretty simple for most sections, with a few tough passages here and there. For example, at 00:54 I incorporated a flashy arpeggio as kind of like a piano “fill”. I always want to do at least one thing to improve my playing in each cover, so for this one, I challenged myself with that! I usually have the volume levels around equal for piano and violin(s), however in this cover, I decided to have the piano as strictly background accompaniment (except the beginning of course). In the original song, the piano is just barely there in the background, so I wanted to have a similar effect. Also, since I chose to have the violin melody in a lower register, I wanted to make sure that the piano part didn't overpower it since it easily could with those upper register triplets!
Overall, I’m super proud of this cover, and I really hope you enjoy it! While I still have a long way to go, I think I’m getting the hang of making covers with multiple parts. They definitely take longer to make, but it’s super fun for me! Enjoy!

ABOUT ME
Hi! My name is Amanda. My very first instrument was the violin, which I started playing at 4 years old, however, since then, I've picked up piano, clarinet, bass clarinet, and alto & baritone saxophone. I made this channel to keep a record of all my musical creations in hopes that my future self will have a place to look back and reminisce the musical part of my youth. ABOUT MY MUSIC
All my covers are 100% original unless stated otherwise; I also learn them all by ear! I've never been the best sight reader, so in comparison to reading sheet music, playing things by ear is much easier and faster for me. All compositions are 100% original.
