Dacopathy, A Romanian Dacia Conspiracy Theory

Dacia was a kingdom bordering the Roman Empire, and like most kingdoms bordering the Romans it was invaded and its rulers removed. Romania is a nation whose roots sprouted out of this Romanisation, with a Dacian heritage to a very small extent no doubt - but some people think that Dacian is a language which spawned Latin and the Roman Empire, as well as Greek civilisation and the Eurasian Steppe, and that most of European civilisation has its roots in the Romanians of today, who they think speak Dacians and are a continuation of pre-Roman Dacia. In this episode, we take a look at why people believe this and just how far the rabbit hole in these theories goes.
