Fresh conflict between Indian Army & PLA

After pause of almost two and half years, fresh conflict has been reported between Indian Army & Chinese PLA Army. The first conflict was reported on 9th December 2022 along the LAC in Tawang Sector in Arunachal Pradesh. The situation remained tensioned on 10th of December, however on 11th December a fresh conflict was reported.

This area has been patrolled by PLA forces but this time PLA forces were trying to create fence and structures which was stopped by Indian Army. Indian Army has completed repelled the incursion of PLA Army and resolved the conflict via flag meeting between both sides on 12th December 2022.

Indian Army has completely thwarted the plan of PLA dominating the area and was completely in aggressive posture. Stone pelting has been reported during the conflict which led to minor injuries at both sides. However, reports suggest that the PLA forces have incurred more injuries. As per reports, 8 Indian Army soldiers were injured, however PLA numbers are still hidden and will remain hidden.

Indian Army has heightened it monitoring activity around this area and the depth area is on high alert with its artillery fire power.

This is not the first time the area in Arunachal Pradesh has seen a face-off between the Indian and Chinese troops. Since the boundary is undefined, Indian and Chinese troops often face-off while patrolling the area. In October 2021, a similar incident had taken place when some Chinese soldiers of a large patrol team were detained for few hours by the Indian Army they engaged in a minor face-off and clashed near Yangtse.

Indian Army has also released the press release for the same. As per PRO Tezpur:

In certain areas along the LAC in the Tawang Sector in Arunachal Pradesh there are areas of differing perception, wherein both sides patrol the area upto their claim lines. This has been the trend since 2006.

On 09 December 2022, PLA troops contacted the LAC in Tawang Sector which was contested by own troops in a firm and resolute manner. This face-off led to minor injuries to few personnel from both sides.

Both sides immedia/sly disengaged from the area. As a follow up of the incident, own Commander in the area held a Flag Meeting with his counterpart to discuss the issue accordance with structured mechanisms to restore peace and tranquillity.

Along all the LAC, Indian army has strong permanent bunkers and Indian army’s readiness is much ahead of PLA Army. Have no misconception that Indian Army is not prepared. Indian Army’s troop motivation and experience is much higher than that of PLA Army.
