The post primary school teachers began their nationwide strike on Monday after the government failed to address their grievances. The teachers stayed away from classrooms on the first day of learning for the third term and took to the streets to protest. The strike took effect as the government pleaded with the union to call off their industrial action and go back to school pending further discussions. As Brenda Wanga reports those discussions involving the ministry of labour did not resolve the stalemate.
