Electric SUVs are joining the market rapidly these days with the Volkswagen Group seemingly and the forefront of this, as well as brands like Stellantis with many EV SUVs in the group. The VW MEB platform is one of the reasons VW's EV products have been popular, being built from the ground-up as EVs with range and efficiency in mind. Not all manufactures base their electric SUVs on an EV platform, with BMW, Stellantis, Mercedes & many more making EVs on existing petrol car platforms.

The Skoda Elroq is the brand's second EV, the smaller sibling to the Enyaq! The Elroq is based on the MEB Volkswagen EV platform which many models from the Volkswagen ID.3 to the Ford Explorer use. The Elroq sits below the size of the Enyaq and ID.4 but is larger than the ID.3 and Cupra Born. Although it looks smaller, it is very similar in size to the Ford Explorer, but starts at a much lower price.

Comparing the Elroq to the Explorer for example, I'd say I much prefer the styling of the Ford, which also features a nicer infotainment display in my opinion, the Elroq does start at a much more cost-effective price though, offers 20L more boot space, and features practical elements such as the cable net and shelves in the boot.
