Leadership during NCAA uncertainties with McGee Moody, Mike Simpson, and Jeff Raker

The #ncaa landscape is changing for #collegiatesports , especially #olympic sports. This conversation recorded in early August of 2024 focuses on the person of the coach and how a coach can lead during these times. Everything will stand or fall on leadership. Uncertainty can paralyze a coach (and we've all seen it happening) or a Coach can lead and drive the narrative.

It is not the skills of coaching that need attention but rather the #leadership of a #coach who builds relationships, shows up consistently, and speaks directly. The present landscape does not easily lend itself to these things.

Jeff Raker is a certified Executive Leadership Coach, swimmer, former FINA Starter, and 3 decade Pastor who works with business leaders at Toyota, the Dept of Energy, multiple small businesses, and dozens of sports teams in the club and University space (Notre Dame, Auburn, SMU, Xavier, Duquesne, Queens Charlotte, and others past and present)

McGee Moody is a certified Financial Planner with a background as a swimmer and collegiate coach at William & Mary, Navy, and South Carolina. He presently coaches his daughter's High School team and therefore brings a parent's perspective on all that is changing.

Mike Simpson is presently an Assistant Coach at Auburn University. Mike swam in college at Houston and Florida State. He was the head coach at Gardner-Webb University for 18 years, and an Assistant at South Carolina before heading to Auburn.

The CSCAA is leading the way to a new future and we all encourage those of you in the swimming space to be in contact with them as they provide resources for you to lead well where you are.
