ROCKFISH & LINGCOD 30 Miles From Port. Barking Sea lions - BOTTOM FISHING PARADISE.

Описание к видео ROCKFISH & LINGCOD 30 Miles From Port. Barking Sea lions - BOTTOM FISHING PARADISE.

30 Miles from Westport and unseen from shore you'll see the most incredible scenery on the Pacific Coast. Majestic towering rock sculptures plunge from the sea to create magnificent habitat for Sea Lions, Seals, Rock Cod and Ling Cod. A literal BOTTOM FISHING PARADISE.

The first couple spots we fished on our way to the final destination were in 100'-140' or water. In these spots we used jig heads ranging from 8-12 ounces tipped with black grubs. The leaders were made of 40lb test monofilament with a snap swivel on one end to accommodate the jig heads, and a barrel swivel on the other end to attach to the main line of 65lb test Power Pro braid. Between the snap and barrel swivels I tie a loop knot to affix a pink Danielson Salmon Fly.

Once we reached our final destination 30 miles from port we downsized the gear for shallow water conditions. The jig heads in this spot were on 4oz.

With the entertaining sounds of barking Sea Lions and crashing waves against the rocks we caught our limits of 7 Rock Cod each and boated 5 Ling Cod in a short time. We then went on to catch and release looking for our last Ling Cod and noticed a strange rock formation sitting atop one of the gigantic rocks. It appears to a structure of rocks stacked on one another but those are way to big to be done my men. Even from a distance they appear to be huge flat boulders.

The wind did pick up for a time but the day ended with a smooth glass like bar crossing and a max speed of over 28kts. Our trip total was over 71 nautical miles and we burned approximately 27 gallons of premium non-ethanol fuel.

HOW-TO-FILLET. Actually, it is a HOW-I FILLET Black Rockfish segment to end this video. Hope you enjoy it as much I did making it.
