In a bid to expand access to affordable RT-PCR Tests for travelers, the Department of Tourism, through the Tourism Promotions Board, partnered with the Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC) and the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH) to subsidize 50% of the swab test costs that will benefit around 11,600 domestic tourists. This cuts the RT-PCR test cost to Php900 at UP-PGH and PHP750 at PCMC. The rolling out of the subsidized RT-PCR tests for qualified domestic tourists is just one of the tourism promotions’ recovery strategies as part of the Safe Bangon Turismo campaign to support the Philippine tourism industry which has been adversely affected by the ongoing pandemic.

To avail, travelers must first register online to pre-schedule their RT-PCR test at https://www.tpb.gov.ph/rtpcrphtravel/ five days before the scheduled departure date, and submit a copy of a valid government-issued ID, a copy of a confirmed accommodation booking, and proof of transportation ticket for the appropriate mode of travel. Families and groups can also be scheduled together. This program will run until June 2021 and is open to all Filipinos and foreigners residing in the Philippines.
