The Blues can be tricky to get right because unlike other most other styles of music it's not exactly diatonic and the way scales are used in that context is not straightfoward. A big part of the sound of the Blues is the mixing of a major and minor tonality. It takes time to soak in the language listening to great bluesmen to really start getting the hang of it. But having this basic understanding of the two tonalities will be a crucial.
