Often bagged by journalists the Subaru Alcyone or Vortex XT is a very similar car to the 4 door Leone which had great success in rally. So why didn't the Alcyone? Well really the car just wasn't worth the cost. Aimed as a sports/luxury car too much was involved to set one up compared to the Leone which was offered to privateers. The Alcyone also sold low numbers making it not an accessible platform. Despite this there were some instances of the Alcyone as a motorsport vehicle.
