athenahealth brought in Wise Construction to renovate several areas of their campus in the historic Watertown Arsenal, including the three “Pod’s” - work areas for athenahealth employees - a training center, conference rooms, a lockbox facility for receiving and processing client remittances, and the facilities Nourish Café. Although this may be a “typical renovation”, athenahealth is no typical client. Being a revolutionary in healthcare management means that at any given time, several of athenahealth’s 3,500 employees are hard at work and don’t have time to deal with construction disturbances or shutdowns. Our experience in working around sensitive, occupied healthcare and laboratory spaces helped Wise upgrade the space without causing any issues for the surrounding employees.

The following video showcases the renovation of athenahealth’s Nourish Café. Wise turned vacant office space into a high-end café, featuring an espresso bar, custom pizza oven, salad bar, food prep areas and full commercial kitchen. Work included installing plumbing into the existing concrete slab, dividing the space into the prep and servicing areas and installation of the high-end finishes.
