Many components of the popular open-source monitoring system Prometheus are written in Go. Performance optimization is often a major concern. This talk presents the techniques we have applied and the pitfalls we have run into during more than three years of Prometheus development.

Björn is the team lead of Production Engineering at SoundCloud and one of the main Prometheus developers. Previously, he was a Site Reliability Engineer at Google and a number cruncher for science.
