Chromoblastomycosis (Dematiaceous Black Mold Fungus Skin Infection): 5-Minute Pathology Pearls

Описание к видео Chromoblastomycosis (Dematiaceous Black Mold Fungus Skin Infection): 5-Minute Pathology Pearls

A complete organized library of all my videos, digital slides, pics, & sample pathology reports is available here: https://kikoxp.com/posts/5084 (dermpath) & https://kikoxp.com/posts/5083 (bone/soft tissue sarcoma pathology).

Learn the basic features of chromoblastomycosis, a skin infection caused by various different pigmented dematiaceous fungus species. I love finding those copper pennies! This disease is closely related to (or on a spectrum with) phaeohyphomycosis, which is infection by pigmented dematiaceous fungi where we also find hyphal forms (maybe I'll make a video about that in future). Excerpted from my dermpath basics 3 video for my 5-Minute Pathology Pearls video series.

This video is geared towards medical students, pathology or dermatology residents, or practicing pathologists or dermatologists. Of course, this video is for educational purposes only and is not formal medical advice or consultation.
