Have you ever made a New Year's resolution to live healthier? What about a pact with friends to shed some pounds? More than 75% of Americans surveyed last year cited losing weight, exercising more, or living a healthier lifestyle as their resolutions. Resolutions after all are about commitment and motivation - so is that pact with friends I talked about earlier. But motivation doesn't just happen at the flip of the calendar into January. Mark Tettis our next high school speaker shares how he found motivation to live a healthier lifestyle both in a country 6700 miles away and in the pages of a comic book. Mark shares how anime, a Japanese cartoon genre, became his catalyst for healthy living. His talk will push you to open your mind to nonconventional sources of inspiration found in your everyday daily life. Mark Tettis, 11th Grader, Brooklyn Laboratory Charter Schools This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
