Accordion Tuning - Methodology overview

This is the second part of “Accordion Tuning: Overview, Theory and Methodology”.

This webinar is focused specifically on equal temperament tuning and overviews the steps commonly needed in a full tuning of the accordion with short demonstrations of cleaning, waxing, voicing, valving, pre-tuning. Challenges on spot tuning vs. complete tuning, octave tuning, tremolo curves and tuning devices will be addressed.

Uriel Kitay is an accordion artisan certified in the process of manufacture, assembly and tuning of free-reed aerophone reeds. He is the owner of an accordion shop based in Argentina, and main distributor of the renowned Italian reed factory Voci Armoniche, in Latin America. He is developing and adapting new reeds for traditional diatonic boxes with respect of cultural expectation, and variety of accordion styles, and music in the continent. He has given lectures and courses on accordion maintenance and repair in various languages.
