Luka Doncic speaks for first time since calf injury

Mavs star Luka Doncic spoke to the media Wednesday for the first time since injuring his calf during the last game of the regular season.

Doncic also took some shots at Wednesday's practice, one day before the team plays the Utah Jazz in Game 3 of the 2022 NBA Playoffs. Thursday's tipoff is 8 p.m. at Vivint Arena in Utah.

Doncic talked with the media Wednesday, saying he "feels good." He said there is no current pain, but he still needs to be cleared by the training staff to play in Thursday's game. The risk of re-aggravating his injury is the main factor.

Head Coach Jason Kidd also spoke with the media, saying the team will wait to see how Doncic feels Thursday before making a final decision. Kidd said if he does play, the Mavs do not expect him to be limited.
