Thumbi Vaa -

Thumbi Vaa is an all-time classic Malayalam song composed by ‘Isaignani’ Ilaiyaraaja for the movie ‘Olangal’ in 1982. Bassline is as important as the melody if not more, that blends into a beautiful Raag like ‘Kaapi’. The beautiful chromatic passages in the Pallavi and those counterpart harmonies in the interludes beautifully stand out. Like many other Ilaiyaraaja songs, this is yet another Bass player’s delight.

Plugged my bass directly into Logic X with the track running in the background and went for a live take. No post-production was other than some EQ and a finalizer in the end. Hope you like it. PLEASE use headphones and enjoy ;)
