Marin’s economic and environmental status will influence the lives of all of us in 2016. What were the trends of 2015 that will continue into 2016? What were the surprises of the past year that foretell positive or negative changes in 2016? What are the countywide challenges and opportunities going forward? What are the goals and strategies of each agency, and how do cities and citizens get involved? Join us to learn about speculations and predictions regarding our economic and environmental future.




Steve Lockett is the CEO of the Marin Economic Forum and has wide-ranging experience in economic development, including regional strategic planning, technology commercialization, workforce development, funding development, and supporting entrepreneurs and startups. Steve has particular experience in incorporating the life sciences industry into a regional economic ecosystem. Prior to joining MEF, Steve was with the University of California, Davis, where he supported technology startups based on University intellectual property. Previously, Steve has worked at Virginia Tech, the North Carolina Biotechnology Center, and the North Carolina Community College System. Steve received his B.A. in International Relations from the College of William & Mary, and his M.B.A. from Western Carolina University.




Andrea Taylor is the Director of the Environmental Forum of Marin’s Master Class 41 and 42. She also oversees the Lecture Series 2016, which will include a session on The Marin Carbon Project, Sea Level Rise, and other pertinent topics. She is developing a service to help businesses become Green Certified. Trained in landscape design and permaculture, Andrea has spent 25 years creating gardens that support habitats for all. In the last decade Andrea has deepened her commitment to the environment in her children’s elementary schools, creating a Green Team and a School Lunch Task Force to advocate for action to reduce consumption. She is a longtime resident in the Bay Area, born in San Francisco and received her BA in Anthropology at UC Berkeley.
