On a recent trip up to stay with a friend in Wisconsin, we heard CP 7023, an SD70ACu painted in a solid gray color to honor the US and Canadian Air Force, was leading a manifest train bound for Kansas City. Catching it first in Dakota, MN, This train takes an interesting route through the La Crescent Wye and never touches the state of Wisconsin. The route it takes South passes through the town of Lansing Iowa, which features a special street running section where the train travels a good 30-40mph down the center of Great River Road. The beautiful golden hour light reflecting off of the locomotive made this chase even more spectacular. Enjoy!
