Wanted to show a snapshot of my time working at PBS. I was at PBS Digital Studios for 3 amazing years, and it was an incredible, unpredictable, super-rewarding ride. It allowed me to learn, stretch, and grow more than I ever thought I would. I’ve really seen the ins and outs of running online video series at @PBS Digital Studios .
I’ve watched hundreds of hours of educational content, learned so much about effective communication, and developed a deep understanding of online video and YouTube as a platform. And working with a network of such talented creators has inspired me to step my own YouTube game up.
I was thrilled to be able to increase diversity in PBSDS's programming, particularly with creating and executive producing @Say It Loud - a show on Black culture and history. And I got to do it with some of my YouTube faves. Evelyn from the Internets, Hallease, KLRU, Nadia Sasso, and Azie Dungey all did great work - so proud of the Say It Loud crew.
People make the place. The PBSDS team was so supportive, collaborative, and empathetic. I’ve felt safe to bring my full self to work. We could be goofballs, we could have hobbies, we could have families. We cared about each other as people, not just as employees 💞.
I’ve loved working at an organization that shares my mission to use media to educate, entertain, and inspire. I've walked away feeling like I’ve made the most of my time at @PBS , and knowing that I’ve made friends and memories that will last for years to come. I wanted to take the time to capture and reflect. Now, off to the next adventure!
