Rotating Swing Span Bridge in Cleveland Ohio - Sat August 24 2024, After the King Gizzard Concert

Here is a "swing span" bridge in Cleveland Ohio, rotating open to allow a large party boat to pass through. This took place on the evening of Saturday August 24th, following the concert at Jacobs Pavilion by Australian Psych-rock band King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. A large group of exiting concert-goers was forced to stop and wait for the bridge to open so the boat could pass, and they can be heard booing loudly.

A swing bridge (or swing span bridge) is a movable bridge that can be rotated horizontally around a vertical axis. It has as its primary structural support a vertical locating pin and support ring, usually at or near to its center of gravity, about which the swing span (turning span) can then pivot horizontally. Jacobs Pavilion and the surrounding area of Downtown Cleveland is absolutely beautiful, and I highly recommend it as a concert venue and a travel destination.
