Colonoscopy Insertion Technique with Mikoto Model: How to perform insertion of the sigmoid colon?

This chapter demonstrates how you could perform insertion with a slight push and stretching of the sigmoid colon, followed by sufficient maneuvering of the tip with the left hand using the angulation wheels finding the correct luminal opening to the descending colon, at the same time applying torque to the floppy endoscope with the right hand and the pivot point of the endoscope tip gradually changes. The right-hand torquing force makes the endoscope tip advance further into the descending colon. During this maneuver, the stretched sigmoid colon collects onto the colonoscope, and then the endoscope straightens out the sigmoid colon.
