Hey everyone, I know many have requested that I share my journey on how I became a spine surgeon. The path to become a surgeon is a long one: it took me 14 years exactly! The path includes being a pre-med, medical student, surgery residency, then fellowship. I remember asking in high school: how to become a doctor? And then as a premed, I remember looking for the best strategies on how to get into medical school. I made this video to help as many of you as I could who have similar questions.

In this video, I share my exact journey and all my med school tips, tips for residency, and general study tips. I cover topics like how long is orthopaedic residency and why I had to work with a general surgeon during orthopaedic residency. I also review my medschool journey and this video should be helpful for medical students applying to be another type of doctor like a neurosurgeon.
