Seiko D409-5020 Vintage Memory Watch In Depth Review and Battery Change

This watch was first available in 1982 and I started wearing this particular one in late 1983 or early 1984. The pre-programmed calendar in the watch goes from the beginning of 1982 through the end of 2022. However, I can continue to use this watch after 2022 by setting the date to exactly 28 years prior to the current date. By using those date settings from 28 years earlier I am assured that the watch will show the correct numbers for the month and day of the moth along with the correct abbreviation for the day of the week. I should be able to keep using this watch through 2050 by using this date offset method.

Correction: When I recorded this I wasn’t sure how long the stopwatch would go before resetting to zero. Now I know that it will run for 12 hours before resetting to zero and continuing to run until you stop it.

This watch uses a lithium CR2016 battery.
