Even though this isn't a "how to make" as much of a "how to get" this iconic sound, I'd be super interested if anyone has recreated this whistling sound on any synth! Probably some square waves, some filtering, enveloping, noise and reverb and I bet you could get close!

Would I buy this synth just for this sound? No way! - but it should be worth noting that the Proteus 2 - and other Proteus synths were heavily used for scores throughout the 90's and early 2000's on TV shows. There's so many recognizable sounds on these things, and if you are looking for one they provide a lot of bang for buck - especially with modern samplers/dawless setups due to being multitimbral.
